About Us

Robert Bailey

After completing a degree in Leisure Resource Management (BSc.) at Portsmouth, I have spent all of my career working at some of the largest full service event agencies and Travel Management Companies in the UK. In these 20 year there have been many great clients that I have worked with, from Sony, O2, PepsiCo, Gilead, Akzo Nobel, Galileo, Peugeot and many more – giving me a great insight into many different industries and a myriad of events! From huge product launches, roadshows, family fun days, global sales conferences, incentives, and glamourous awards dinners and much more.

It was in September 2017 that my wife (Jeanette) and I decided it was time to be in control of our own destiny and that’s when VDS was born! Jeanette has 15 years’ experience of working venue/hotel side and I agency side. So we feel we have a very good understanding of the industry between us.

On a personal level, I love spending time as a family exploring new places both in the UK and overseas. We all enjoy camping in the summer months.

I have completed 2 Ironman Triathlons and 3 London Marathons over the years and whilst I’m not currently training for anything significant like that, I do like to keep fit by playing squash and cycling whenever I can spare the time!

Jeanette Bailey

Being born and raised in Germany and qualified with a hospitality diploma whilst working in various hotels near Munich, I then moved to the UK in 2003 and worked in London for 9 years. I worked in hotels and 5-star venues as event co-ordinator and diary manager, made many contacts and gained experience in the event industry as well as knowledge of how hotels and venues operate.

Now working on “the other side” as a professional venue finder it has proven to be hugely beneficial being able to transfer my experience to our own business Venue and Destination Solutions (VDS).

I am also a proud mum of two young children and as a family we like exploring and travelling together. Seeing new places has helped recommending them to our valued clients. I love the outdoors,fitness classes, camping, gardening and BBQ’s.
